Comet Inlands, held over 2 days of the spring Bank Holiday. This event attracted a total of 34 boats from the Comet and Comet Duo fleets from wide and far. Conditions were extremely light on both days, only allowing 2 races to be run on each day. Monday saw a very lively squall blow through just before the 1st race, but unfortunatley, it did not hold out for the start of the racing. The event was one by our very own Eddie Pope, counting 3 first places. Well Done Eddie, and thanks to OD Richard Cambrook and all the other members that helped make the event such a sucess. Special thanks to Clive Chapman for putting an immense amount of effort into organising a very sucessfull event.

Hawley Lake Comet Open

The Hawley lake SC Comet open was held on the 25th July 2009 and with variable conditions from light to very gusty, it provided challenges across 3 fleets that were made up of Comets Comet Duo's and Comet Trio's.

The clubs RO for the day made a course of a triangle which weaved in between 2 of the 6 islands the the lake has, and with the wind comming from a diffferent direction every few moments, it made a simple triangle that bit more interesting! Beware of the Holes behind trees was the big tip of the day!

Racing was very close in all 3 fleets and everybody had a enjoyable day with a cold buffet served after by the clubs bar team Gary and Jan.
