Littleton Juniors Go J80 Sailing - 10 November
13 youngsters age 8 to 16 from the Littleton Juniors group took control of two 8m J80 keel boats at Queen Mary, under the guidance of Colin Dobner, and Andrew Selves.
The Juniors group have sailed throughout the summer at Littleton developing skills in a range of dinghies - this special day expanded the skills and team work of some of the experienced juniors through crewing and helming 8m (26') J80 keel boats.
Controlling the boats required great communication and coordination by the whole crew. The fun really started when they launched the 60m2 (700 sq ft) spinnakers. The day really consolidated many of the sailing and racing skills learned on the Juniors own Feva and Pico boats - but was also a fantastic day out for Juniors and leaders.
