From a fairly lively wind with a blustery shower in the late afternoon, the wind settled down to near perfect for our annual Moonlight Race, held on the 31st August. After an early BBQ supper competitors added the final touches to their boat lights and decorations and took to the water as the sun went down.
Race Officer Tim Hore and his team set a triangular course with lit marks to aid navigation. The wind held well during the race giving sailors a decent sail and spectators a great view from the clubhouse balcony.
Congratulations to Jon Jowett who was the overall winner and to the Lemmon family who won the best lit boat prize in their Mirror dinghy.
