Coronavirus (Covid19) Sailing – Update 21 March

UPDATED 16TH JUNE 2020 This information is now out of date, please refer to the Current Sailing Activities page.

Coronavirus (Covid19) Sailing Update (21 March)

Following yesterday’s Government announcement that pubs, restaurants, gyms and leisure centres must close with immediate effect we have decided to further modify our sailing programme.

We would prefer to close the clubhouse completely but in order to provide toilet provision the doors will be open. You are not to go upstairs at all and we ask that you change in your cars or arrive already changed for sailing. To reiterate the club house is only to be used for the toilets.

A safety boat will be available but there will be a watching cover from the shore.

Racing will only take place if the OD is satisfied it can be done without breaching the social distancing guidelines.

Please respect the wishes of others, especially the duty team, to follow the social distancing advice to keep 2m (6 ft) from each other.

Hopefully it goes without saying that if you are showing any flu-like symptoms you should stay at home and refer to the NHS 111 service.

Please help is to keep the club open for sailing by supporting us in following our advice in the hope that we can weather this pandemic and return to normal in the summer.

PleaseĀ follow this link for further details of these proposals.

Best wishes to you and your families. I hope you all stay well.

Rear Commodore (Sailing)
